CMP Select grade U.S. Springfield Armory M1 Garand semi-auto rifle, .30-06 cal., 24" Springfield barrel dated 6-65, Parkerized military finish, smooth walnut military stock with sling swivels, period leather rifle sling, protected blade front and adjustable aperture sight at the rear, internal magazine for 8-round enbloc clip, clear factory markings. Mfg. in 1955-56, the rifle is in near excellent overall condition, retaining nearly all of the military finish with scrapes and thinning finish at the muzzle. The stock is in fine condition with indentations and scuffs. The buttstock ends with a checkered steel butt plate with trap (empty). There is a sharp "P" cartouche behind the trigger guard. Fine bright bore showing light erosion and well-defined rifling. The action is crisp. The lot includes the original CMP shipping box, Certificate of Authenticity, CMP documents confirming the rifle is a "Select" grade example, instruction manual, M1 Packet and parts list. Hard to find high condition CMP rifles in the original box anymore. (C&R).
