Springfield Armory U.S. Model 1903 bolt action rifle, .30-06 cal., 24" SA barrel with flaming bomb ordnance symbol, dated 1-18, blue finish, smooth walnut military style stock with sling swivels, banded blade front and tangent rear sights, bayonet lug, clear factory markings. Mfg. in 1918, the rifle is in fine overall condition, retaining 80%-85% thinning finish with wear at the muzzle and marks consistent with service use. The stock is in fine condition with typical indentations and storage marks, displaying a partial circle "P" cartouche behind the trigger guard. The buttstock ends with a smooth steel butt plate with trap (empty), providing a 13" LOP. The bore is very good with light erosion and frosting, showing well-defined rifling. The action functions smoothly and locks up securely. (C&R).
