After-marked finely engraved Colt Model 1908 hammerless semi-auto pistol in .380 caliber w/ a 3.75" barrel displays ~99% bright nickel finish to the gun’s parts. The beautifully checkered & ornamented two-piece natural material grips are also excellent including a stylized "C H" on the left grip panel & a detailed American Bison head on the right grip panel. Markings are sharp, action crisp & the bore/rifling are near excellent. NOTE: A Factory Colt letter has been requested from the Colt Archives. In the meantime, an electronic message has been received from them confirming the serial number, caliber & barrel length indicating it did not leave the factory as an engraved gun. It did further note that the gun was shipped to Shapley Hardware Company, St. Louis, MO on February 23, 1931, with four other similarly configured guns. The factory letter indicates the pistol left the factory blued and without engraving. It was shipped to the Shapleigh Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri on February 23, 1931 with five guns in shipment. (C&R).
