Colt Bankers Special double action revolver in .38 S&W caliber w/ a 2" barrel displays ~98% blued finish to the gun’s parts (including a trigger shoe) and polished hammer. The factory two-piece checkered walnut grips are excellent w/ Rampant Colt silver colored discs inset at the top of each grip panel. Included is a Colt factory letter confirming the serial number, caliber, barrel length, finish, factory inscription on the butt RMS #17221, and shipment to the Railway Mail Service in June of 1931, in a shipment of 800. The revolver purportedly later belonged to the Police Chief of Renton, Washington and is inscribed with his name "Donald J. Zwicker" on the backstrap. The lot further includes a copy of an article from "U.S. Handguns of World War II" along with a handwritten note from a previous owner stating the Zwicker had been the Police Chief in Renton, Washington.
