German Luger Model PO8 semi-auto pistol in 9mm caliber w/ a 4" barrel displays ~85% even blued finish to the gun’s parts w/ partial straw finish to the trigger, safety lever, takedown, magazine release button flat & cocking bar. The un-marked magazine is finished in gray w/ an un-marked aluminum colored base. The checkered two-piece hardwood grips are overall fine w/ light spots of wear from handling. Markings are sharp including The G-Date code for 1935 and S/42 indicating mfg. by Mauser. All visible serial numbers are matching. The action is crisp & the bore/rifling are near fine w/ scattered light areas of erosion. Comes w/ a brown leather military flap holster in overall good condition with "Dresden 1915" marking & "L.P. Th. Nr. 217" stamped on the top front area. The leather hold down strap is present yet not secured to the front of the holster. IMPORTANTLY, this lot comes w/ the original Bring Back Certificate made out to PFC J.D. Kise 35738693, dated Oct. 17, 1945. The Luger & Holster are noted on the Certificate along w/ a German Knife & German Flag (both of which are not included w/ this lot). Further research by the successful bidder may reveal interesting data concerning the service of PFC Kise. (C&R).
