Indian Ishapore 2A1 bolt-action, magazine-fed military rifle in .308 with a 25" barrel. Displays approximately 85% heavy black finish; the bolt is largely in-the-white with roughly 35% of its original blued finish remaining. A painted red cross is present on the underside of the barrel forward of the bayonet lug. Hardwood stock and handguards are in overall good condition. Aluminum-type buttplate; the butt trap is empty. Right rear of the buttstock is stamped "S (arrow) A" (South African ownership mark); left side of the buttstock carries a white-painted "218". Receiver markings include the serial number Z2790. The right side of the rear receiver/tang area is marked "Rifle / 7.62 mm / R.F.I. / 1968". Rear sight is the correct 2A1-pattern adjustable aperture graduated 2/4/6/8 (800 metres). Action is crisp and the bore/rifling are excellent. Comes with a yellow adjustable woven sling in near-fine condition. (C&R).
